Noon - 1pC: #TonyKurre had an errand to run this afternoon, and I decided it was an opportune time to hijack the station (just a little) and play some of my favorites from the KCast Radio music library during the first hour. I think I'll call it the #KeatsClassicROCKhour! Catchy, no?

  • December - Collective Soul

  • Rock Steady - Bad Company

  • Black Flag - King's X

  • Are You Gonna Go My Way - Lenny Kravits

  • Sweet Child O' Mine - Guns N' Roses

  • Big Balls - AC/DC

  • My Own Worst Enemy - Lit

  • Dixie Chicken - Little Feat

  • Rock and Roll, Hoochie Koo - Rick Derringer

  • Crosstown Traffic - The Jimi Hendrix Experience

  • Rocky Mountain Way - Joe Walsh

If you dig the set, let me know by leaving a comment! Use the #KeatsClassicROCKhour tag, and gimme some feedback!

1pC - 2pC: You've seen plenty of news about the "bad cops," and I remain incredibly sensitive to the clear issues present in the US relating to policing, criminal justice, and racial tensions; with that, it certainly should just as common that we should encounter stories of GOOD cops doing good WORK in the media, as they definitely still exist. It's hard for me to not group ALL COPS into a single category with all that is going on, and so—if only as a means of forcing myself to consider any bias I may have personally—allow me to share with you this story just breaking today which features a super heroic cop literally saving a man... from getting run over by a train.

WARNING: This video is pretty graphic!

2pC - 3pC: Planning on taking a trip... with a capital T ? There's an app for everything these days, including THIS ONE meant to be your guide if you're planning to trip balls...

  • "Field Trip," developed by a Toronto-based venture focusing on psychedelic assisted psychotherapy, is soft-launching this week, and is a digital companion to Field Trip's clinics in New York, Los Angeles, and Toronto, where patients settle into rooms filled with zero-gravity leather recliners and weighted blankets and take an ego-quieting psychedelic substance under the supervision of a Field Trip trained therapist.

  • Using psychedelics as means of treating certain mental illnesses, from addiction to post traumatic stress disorder, has been a legitimate medical consideration since the beginning. Unfortunately, clinicians don't presently have access to these treatment options unless they're conducting research which has been specifically sanctioned by the government.

  • Companies, like Toronto's Field Trip Health, behavioral scientists, and many more are spear-heading research efforts all over the world which will hopefully bring about an end to the criminalization of psychedelics, and perhaps soon these powerful experiential medicines will be made available for medical professionals to use as they treat their patients.

  • I feel obligated to say remind you that Psilocybin and other psychoactive compounds found in psychedelic mushrooms—including Psilocin, Baeocystin, and Norbaeocystin are still illegal in nearly all countries around the world; and while I personally believe in not only the viability of these medicines to heal a great number of mental illnesses while also providing truly life changing experiences for courageous and responsible users, but using these substances is still considered criminal. Whatever you do, make responsible decisions.

Thanks for spending your afternoon with me here on #KCastRadio, this Thursday, August 13, 2020. I'm playing the best Classic ROCK right HERE every Monday - Friday from Noon - 3pm, and I hope you'll join me. Leave a comment below if you'd like to connect with other classic rockers, make a request, or share some feedback! I'd love to hear from you.
